I have been painting in the United Arab Emirates for over 20 years. In that time I have achieved my main goal of being this countries leading African painter.

Over the past 12 years I have exhibited widely in the UAE, especially in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. I have enjoyed solo exhibitions at Abu Dhabi’s Cultural Foundation and DUCAT in Dubai.

My paintings are semi-abstract, often with African themes of family and culture. A cubist element with subtle colour variations is typical of my work.

In 1999 I helped form Abu Dhabi’s first art group (Abu Dhabi Art Squad) with Bruce Hill from New Zealand. Since then we have worked together to spread the visual arts message around the city through regular art outings in public areas.

Over the past 2 years ADAS has grown a lot with new artists joining from Pakistan, Italy, USA, England and Bulgaria. I am currently preparing for our new group show at ADACH (Abu Dhabi Arts and Cultural Heritage Dept) showing from January 17 to 31, 2011.

Here are some paintings to be on show in the exhibition “Seven Perspectives”
